I have already been to Trunk Bay (beautiful) and have not been to the other two stated. Is Cinnamon Bay just as nice and/or how much further is this beach? Also, I have heard some people talk about Watermelon. What can you tell me about that beach???

thanks!

We spent a week on St. John last May, spending most of our time at Trunk Bay....you're right.....beautiful! Drove to Cinnamon Bay one day, only to leave as fast as we got there due to mosquitoes! Had we only looked to see the taxi drivers armed with their cans of OFF!, before setting out for the beach. IMO Cinnamon Bay was not as nice of Trunk Bay, and not just because of the masquitoes. Masquitoes were horrible most everywhere we went on the island, no matter what time of day. Didn't notice them much at Trunk Bay or in town at Cruz Bay. Waterlemon Cay is a hike from where you park, along a rocky shoreline, but a nice place to snorkel with the turtles. Depending on whether or not the island has had much rain, be prepared, and take along some bug spray!

Cinnamon Bay is a nice beach. Trunk Bay is a little more post card beautiful. Both beaches have food/drinks and snorkeling. Cinnamon has the ruins and self guided walking trail just across from the beach entrance and it has non-motorized watersports rentals. Cinnamon is about 2-3 minutes drive from Trunk Bay.

Waterlemon has good snorkeling. You have to arrange transportation to Leinster Bay/trail to Waterlemon, below Annaberg and arrange for a pick up time because taxis aren't typically in that area unless doing a tour that includes Annaberg. If you rent a car there is some parking. You have to hike to Waterlemon. Bring water and snacks as there aren't any amenitites.
