Viking River Cruise

There's a lot of discussion in the "River Cruises" section of this board.

My wife and I (mid 60's) did the Danube/Main/Rhine in 2005 and the Rhine in 2007 and enjoyed them both immensely. You'll find a high percentage of seniors and almost no children -- most young people would be bored. The included excursions at each stop are mostly 1/2 day and not too strenuous (we're not as spry as we used to be and appreciate that) and they're all tailored to English-speaking passengers. (I believe Viking has a separate set of ships and itineraries they market overseas.)

Do the entire Budapest to Amsterdam cruise (or vice-versa). The towns along the Danube are picturesque and friendly, the Main Canal is an engineering marvel, the commercial barges are very different from those in the states and the castles along the Rhine are beautiful.

I highly recommend it.
