Caliber1 Posted March 4, 2008 #27 Share Posted March 4, 2008 I am shocked people. Yes the price is great. But prolly my favorite thing is meeting up with fellow Carnival cruisers. We always have a great time.

anaslile Posted March 5, 2008 #32 Share Posted March 5, 2008 Price. As a solo traveler, I would be charged 200% on other lines, so Carnival's 150% is a nice option. First thing I look for *any* cruise.

Azure Moon Posted March 7, 2008 #34 Share Posted March 7, 2008 ...3. Platinum status as of my last Carnival...........there was a noticeable difference in service & treatment. Better than the out-of-this-world wonderful that it already is  ? LOL! I'm going to have to rethink my lack of desire to reach platinum status, 'cause "a noticeable difference in service & treatment", I just have to see to believe :) . Oh, David, dear...:D
cathyoo Posted March 7, 2008 #35 Share Posted March 7, 2008 Price.. Since I am spending my retirement fund before I actually retire..I'll get a few more cruises before I declare bankruptcy. Also, like the atmosphere, the other passengers, and the crews.

Oh, David, dear...:D I was very surprised at how impressed the staff was about the platinum status. I knew I had the VIP embarkation but didn't realize it was for the port of calls as well. In the first port of call we went to the line was really long, backed up a few flights of stairs. I was standing there holding my card waiting to put it in the machine when the guy selling water saw me & my card. He literally pulled me out of the line & put me in the front(with my dh & ds of course). I would also be at the bar waiting to order a drink & would have them always come to me first. I felt bad but I was so surprised I couldn't say anything. The service was really what I saw different. I didn't wave the card around or anything it just got noticed. The great thing is your family gets the same treatment. My DH was not platinum so of course we used my card at every chance. I always thought those in a suite also had that card but they only have the VIP embarkation/disembarkation.

See bold: Yes, it was nice when we got to Half Moon Cay to simply walk into the Big Theater at 10am and be escorted as the first group to the tenders. (before Carnival ship excursions! ) We were on the island before the supplies all got there. It was very interesting to watch them set up the "I Wish I Could Stay Here Forever" bar. I never realized that the crew have to bring every piece of ice, every beer etc with them!!
