dakrewser Posted March 10, 2008 #101 Share Posted March 10, 2008 The port charge and taxes on a typical 7 day cruise in the Caribbean is about $110-125 per person, including the fuel surcharge. This is the third reference I have seen in the past week where someone is claiming port charges/taxes/fuel surcharges are running about $500 for two passengers. What am I missing? Don't know where you got your numbers, but I just checked with my TA and for a 7 Day Caribbean (Westerdam 4/6/08 - Southern Caribbean) it's: Port charges...................160.00 Taxes and Government Fees.......50.08 Fuel supplement.................35.00 Total..........................245.08 per person. pms4104 Posted March 10, 2008 #102 Share Posted March 10, 2008 I admit I'm neither a CPA nor a tax attorney and I am wondering what happens to a winner's tax liability if he forfeits the trip because he is unable to take the trip or decides not to accept the prize. Just curious.
