Aqau Palms Hotel - Waikiki

From what I have read on these boards, the Aqua Palms & Spa is in walking distance to the main shops, restaurants and beach in Waikiki. If you are walking back to the Aqua Palms in the evening, is it well lit or would you suggest taking a bus or taxi back to the hotel? TIA
