My first trip Inside Passage cruise was in May '99 and it was too cold. Lots of rain in Ketchikan, Sitka, and Juneau. It was nice when we flew into Anchorage, and the day at Glacier Bay was beautiful. But other than that it was rainy, cold and gray the rest of the time.

August of '07 we did a cruisetour and it was cloudy and rainy in Vancouver, but once we set to sea, the sun came out and it was beautiful for the full 11 days we were in the Yukon and Alaska interior. We had some partly cloudy days and it did sprinkle on us a few times, then a torrential downpour in Juneau. But it wasn't as cold as it had been in May.

Although, I still wore my thermal long underwear both times. I prefer the bit warmer temps of August. I was afraid of bugs in June and July.
