NCL Dawn Restaurant Questions

I am sure it is on this site somewhere, but I went back and couldn't find it. Does anyone know which restaurants are free and which are additional $$ on Dawn? Also, for a group of nine, would it be better to make reservations every night? If you had to rate the restaurants, what would be your number 1, 2 and 3 favorites?

Free - No reservations needed:

Venetian - Main Restaurant

Aqua - Main Restaurant

Blue Lagoon - Diner type restaurant

Garden Cafe - Buffet

 

 

Free - Reservations needed however:

Impressions of Italy - Italian

Salsa - Tex-Mex

 

Cover Charge & Reservations needed:

Cagney's - Steakhouse

LeBistro - European

Bambo - Asian

Tepperanaki - Japanese type restaurant - very limited seating.

 

 

I was on the Dawn in 2006. Cagney's and Impressions of Italy (then known as LaTrattatoria) were my favorites.

 

As a large group, you can make reservations in the main restaurants. (smaller groups cannot). You can also make a standing group reservation in the main restaurants. But group reservations for the main restaurants can only be made for 5:30, 5:45, 6:00 or after 8:15. Not during the prime dining hours of 6:15-8:15 p.m. In the other restaurants, you make reservations just like anyone else (that process has changed since I was on the Dawn, so I will let someone else speak to that.) and you can make group reservations for any time in those. (no reservations for Blue Lagoon or Garden Cafe.)

 

Most tables only seat 8, but there are a few that will seat 10.
