AJI2596 Posted March 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2008 on the ship or in the wading pool? If wearing a swimmie diaper? TIA:o
6rugrats Posted March 10, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2008 No swim diapers in the regular pool; must be potty trained.
smoothy Posted March 10, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2008 Here's a good thread with a list of ships that have water areas for diapered children: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=723649
carriejose Posted March 10, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2008 I remember finding this out about 3 weeks before our cruise last May. Our daughter was a little over 2 years and 3 months old. I really wasn't going to potty train her until summer, but I was determined to potty train her for our cruise. We have a pool so she loves to swim and I knew that there was no way I was going to be able to keep her out of those pools. It was hard work, but we did it and she had a great time in the pools. The camp carnival counselors were great too. We told them she was just potty trained and they made sure they took her to the potty often... crusinmama06 Posted March 10, 2008 #5 Share Posted March 10, 2008 Not on Carnival. You can see the non-potty trained children's pools at the link that smoothy posted above. I just wanted to add too though that it is confusing because their are "children's" pools onboard. Just not non-potty trained children.

crusinmama06 Posted March 12, 2008 #8 Share Posted March 12, 2008 You can bring an inflatable for him. There is a big long thread around here somewhere with pictures to show the kind that other parents have brought with them.:)

smoothy Posted March 13, 2008 #10 Share Posted March 13, 2008 out of curiosity, are there drains nearby to empty it? Depends where you set it up- casino? no drain there I'd think. Balconies have drains, as does the pool deck. Most small inflatables you can carry even when full to the nearest shower or deck drain.
crusinmama06 Posted March 13, 2008 #11 Share Posted March 13, 2008 out of curiosity, are there drains nearby to empty it? Nope, we just dump it right back in the main pool. ;) KIDDING! I'm KIDDING! :p When people bring inflatables, they can dump it down the shower drains if there is a shower at the pool. They can dump it down the deck drain. And some say they just dump it in the sink at the janitor's closet. We are only talking a couple of buckets here. It doesn't take much to take the buckets back out and dump them in an appropriate place.
Lewski709 Posted March 18, 2008 #12 Share Posted March 18, 2008 I'll be taking my partially potty trained toddler in the pool. I know many adults that aren't potty trained that go in.

THAT stinks.Nope, not kidding. I am sure she will be trained in full by the time we go, but she "doodies" in the toilet regularly. It's pee when she has the occasional accidents. We have a pool here and never had an issue, plus I teach swimming at a pool.
