Galveston Bac to backk Questions

Recommended Posts

Yes, I have read the posts on Back to backs, but here are a few specific questions:

#1 We will exit Voyager, clear immigration, then go for some Starbucks,

so do we need to check in again?

#2 Will we re-set the Credit card at that time we go through check-in

again?

#3 OR, are we permitted to stay onboard?

#4 If we can stay onboard, was the DR open for B-to-B passengers?

We have the same JS so no need to move stuff.

Any other tips you might be able to add?

1. Stay with the group (you'll be escorted) for check-in. The pier coordinators check you in, not the regular agents. Someone got mad at me about that last week. After that you should be able to leave, just have your ID and sea pass. Make sure to be back with plenty of time, there's a strict cutoff. Ask the PC when you check-in about leaving and times.

2. I believe so. Print your setsail for that sailing as well.

3. No, the ship has to be empty to be cleared by customs.

4. Most staff is either taking time off or working embarkation so only the WJ is open.

I hope that helps :)

I'm just adding, the starbucks is across the street so if that's the only place you're going, you won't need to go far.

In my experience the dining room has a special lunch for the b2bers on turnaround day. You do have additional choices than just the WJ if you are doing a b2b.

I'm just repeating what we've been told by the HD. :D

HD was probably making the reference concerning the general passengers as the dining room lunch is for people doing B2Bs only and the rest of the cruisers must use the WJ.

We did a b2b in Jan on the Voyager. There was nothing special for lunch between cruises. WJ was the only choice. We were told originally that we could get off with other passengers and shop in town, but then we would have to wait and go through check-in. However, if we stayed with the group of b2b passengers, we would walk off and then come right back on. This is what we all did, as the ship was late arriving because of fog.
