Morocco or Tunisia

We are thinking of a Celebrity Cruise in October that would take us to either Casablanca and Tangier, Morocca, or Tunis, Tunisia. They all look like large, industrial cities, however with a traditional African/ Arabic flair. What are the preferences of those of you that have visited these places? Are they generally safe, given that we prefer to tour on our own but are not naive enough to venture into unknown territory? Are they worthwhile visiting instead of the tried and true (i.e. the Greek Islands, Kusadasi, etc, which we did last fall)? Looking forward to your responses. Karin

We were on Tunis last october and really liked the city. It is a mixture of ancient and modern with a distinct French flavour. There is a large Souk area with loads of small stalls and shops where bargaining is essential but there is also a modern shopping area too. Tunis is also home to the amazing Bardo Museum which has the most complete collection of Roman Mosaics in the world. There is also the incredibly pretty seaside resort of Sidi Bou Side a short tram (could be train) ride away.
