Cellphone service on Crown Princess

We are sailing on the Crown Princess next week and I am trying to find out if we will be able to get cellphone service on the ship or if the ship has a cellphone tower. We have Verizon. Would appreciate it if someone would let us know. Thanks!

Not sure about cell phone service through the ship when at sea yet but it should work in all the ports.

No ship cell service as of January when we were on the ship, but I understand that Princess recently signed a contract with a cellular provider to wire up all their ships for service.

Was on the Crown last month and the only places I was able to get a signal were San Juan and St. Thomas. For me it really didn't matter too much.

This question was recently asked. I posted the company's planned implementation schedule in this thread. The crown is scheduled for Q1 2008. However, as of today, I do not think it's installed yet. I am also on the crown 03/22 - 03/29. So, I will report back if it's on.

You may want to call your cell phone company and have your number put in the system for calls outside of the US. Not sure what system that is, but it wouldn't hurt to call them.
