Nephew is going on Elation in April and wants to know if he can take his own beer on board.

I have seen people take beer, soda and water but haven't taken a Carnival cruise for a while.

thanks for your help.

Liquor and Beverage Policy

Bringing Alcohol On Board - Embarkation

Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages onboard. However, guests (21 years and older only) may bring one bottle (750 milliliter) of wine or champagne per person on board only during embarkation at the beginning of the cruise. A $10 corkage fee per bottle will be charged should you wish to consume this wine in the dining room or a $14 corkage fee per bottle in the Supper Club. Guests may bring a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages.

All alcohol, additional quantities of wine/champagne or excessive quantities of non-alcoholic beverages will be confiscated and discarded without compensation. Guests may purchase a variety of beverages on board the ship. Alcoholic beverages will not be sold or served to anyone under the age of 21. We reserve the right to refuse the sale of alcoholic beverages to anyone. Alcoholic beverages purchased in the ship’s gift shops or in ports of call will be retained by Carnival until the end of the voyage.

LARGE COOLERS RESTRICTION:

Carnival Cruise Lines does not allow guests to bring large coolers on board its vessels. Small, personal-sized coolers no larger than 12” x 12” x 12” for the purpose of housing small quantities of non-alcoholic beverages and/or medications are permitted as carry-on luggage. Screening and movement of large coolers through embarkation is an impediment to the boarding and security screening process and therefore large coolers are not permitted as carry-on or checked luggage.

We packed a medium suitcase with cans of beer two years ago on the fascination (lots of bubble wrap). I gave the porter a $10 and it made it just fine. Never tried it on the west coast.

The funny thing was that it was just after they switched to the 16 oz aluminum Bud Light cans, so we got a few comments from staff. Mostly kept it in the room after that.

We just smuggled 3 cases of bud lite alum bottles on the Fantasy this last Feb. We alway bring these on because they sell them on board so you are not questioned. we just pack them in our regular suitcase and they always make it to our room. We pack a collapsible cooler and the room steward always ice it up for us.

You just watch for an empty bucket on the lido deck , grab it, bring it to your room, fill it up with your beer and go on up to the deck and enjoy yourself.
