Independence of the Seas AFT Balcony???

Yes you will have an obstruction, and an actual grey deck area on the other side of your balcony railing. Most people prefer to go up to deck 9 or 10 when booking aft cabins on Voyager and Freedom class ships.

I would not book deck 6 aft on these ships- there is a crew deck out there that kinda gives us a closed in feeling. Try to go up at least one more deck.

Being aware of the structure--these balconies are worth it though.
