Gypsy025 Posted March 19, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2008 On QM crossings, what percentage of the passengers are from the UK? I realize that the ratio will fluctuate by time of year and direction, but I'm looking for a ball park figure.
Beyondships Posted March 19, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2008 I would estimate about 60/40 US/UK. On those crossings which go to or from Germany, however, the largest single group can be Germans. There is often a sizable number of Germans on the crossings that do not touch in Germany. QM2 is very popular there. Also, there is often a sizeable contingent of French passengers. Surprisingly, on the three Caribbean cruises on QM2 that I have been on this winter the majority of the passengers were British even though the ship left from New York. In addition to the attractive exchange rates, many of the people seemed to have purchased a package which included a brief stay in New York before the cruise. tg_lindo Posted March 19, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2008 June 2007: 55% British, 35% USA, 10% other.... German, Irish, Canadian, etc. At the Black and White Ball cruise director rattled off the number of passengers from each country. Several nations were represented in small numbers additional to UK and US.
