We did the Sloth Sanctury and loved it. We had a short scenic bus ride to the sanctuary. Our tour started with a canoe ride around the property. We got to see many birds and monkeys in the trees. Then we went inside to watch a short video about the sloths. They brought out Buttercup, the first sloth they got. And then we got to "meet" many sloth babies. There were a lot of photo ops too. They treated us to a fresh fruit and lemonade snack and then we took a nature walk on one of the trails. Judy and Luis were great hosts and their passion for helping the sloths was moving. Our tour guide was the best that we have ever had. I was learning so much about Costa Rica that I am planning on going back for a land based trip. On the ride back to the pier we got to stop at a few groves to sample more fruit and sugarcane and we stopped at a local resort to buy gifts. It was a great way to spend a half day.
