Ernie G Posted March 21, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 21, 2008 I think most of the airport zoned hotels have shuttles to the hotel, but not the pier. The hotels in the Downtown area of FLL are the most convenient to the Port, but don't have airport shuttles. There are some nice hotels in the Downtown and Beach Zones. We bid all of our rooms through Priceline, so we get great prices. We have stayed in the Embassy, Hyatt, Marriott, and one other one, but it was many years ago and I don't remember the name. They were all very nice. The Embassy had a shuttle, but with lots of pre-cruise passenger guest there was always a line, so we take a cab, if we don't have a rental car. I don't believe the cost is more than maybe $10 total for the cab. I believe I read somewhere that the Comfort does have a shuttle and you could probably find out from going to their website. Rental cars are very cheap in FLL. It is a cheap way to see the city if you're interested in doing something outside of the hotel. You can also return the car the morning of your cruise to the airport (which is 2 miles from the cruise port and then take their free shuttle back to the port. My husband usually drops me and the luggage at the port, returns the car and board the shuttle to catch up with me in the cruise terminal. It works great and it's about the same price as taking a cab to a hotel close to the port and then another one to the port, plus you have the car for your use while there. The FLL area is our favorite disembarkation port. This time we're out of Miami, but still happy just to get away. Happy cruising.

tmitchell82 Posted March 22, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 22, 2008 The Springhill Suites has a shuttle from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the cruise terminal (or at least the advertise they do and lets hope so since I am staying there) Holiday Inn Express also has the same from the last time I stayed there Both are relatively close to the airport. If you are looking for things to do the day ahead of time, there might not be the greatest as there is not a ton to do within walking distance.
