Fairbanks-What to do in the area?

Hi Cruisers,:D

 

We will be arriving in Fairbanks on June 3, a day before our Princess Cruise/tour starts. We will have a whole day free. On the first day of our Princess tour we will be on the Sternwheeler Riverboat and also have a tour of Fairbanks and the El Dorado Gold mine. We would like something to do in the area on the day before The Princess tour starts, and don't want to duplicate what we will be getting with them. In the evening we will be going to the Malemute Saloon. Any other ideas?:confused: Should we rent a car and go someplace, not too far away? Any help would be appreciated.

There is plenty to do in Fairbanks, you need to determine what you want?? A car is necessary, if you want to see various city sites. Another option is one of the Arctic Circle day trips, or flghtseeing, which a car wouldn't be necessary. Request their visitor guide http://www.explorefairbanks.com
