if anyone has been reading this board they will find posts from me offering help for Buenos Aires - I lived there for five years (87-92). I would love to see photos of the city if anyone has posted some good ones recently.

Thanks

Hi, I'm Argentine (Buenos Aires born) and you can see some pictures from my city in these addresses of my megaportal (sme of them under my nickname Orly Borges):

Muchas gracias

The only photos that meant something to me are the ones titled "Personal Working Area" - since I worked at the US Embassy for five years and jogged everyday en parque palermo (thus my screen name). If you have anymore photos of that area (anything in Palermo) - or where I lived in Belgrano - I would love to see them.

Okay, Palermo.

Maybe you'd like to visit my BA Bilingual Guide and choose the Palermo and Belgrano links. There are some pictures I shot (as I did with those statuary pics under the nick of Orly Borges).

I'll keep you informed about more info.

Hi again dear Palermo22,

Maybe you refer to Santa Fe as Cabildo Avenue and I perfectly know the area as I am living just opposite to the Zoo and Botanical gardens Main Entrances and just across from Plaza Italia (Italy Square) on Santa Fe Avenue.

I have just found more interesting PANORAMIC pictures for you. You can visit here 385 panoramic or landscape photographs, so be ready to use the RIGHT ARROW in your keyboard to enjoy them. You will even find many pictures of Palermo woods and Belgrano, but of course all of them are aerial pictures.
Here you are...

Gracias Orlando - great photos!

And, yes, I meant Cabildo - not Santa fe. Depending on which colectivo I took to work in the morning - I would catch one on Cabildo and take it to where you live at plaza italia - and then walk alongside la rural into ave colombia to la embajada.

You're welcome, Palermo.

I also love this area ... it's so green really (though a bit noisy). That's why I bought this apartment on the 12th floor.

And what can I tell you? I also miss Las Vegas a little. And I miss Blue-Eyed Frankie singing "Summer Wind" in the movie I took in 1993 when I was there for the last time.

All the best for you,

Orlando

Orlando

That was very kind! In actuality, I consider BA more of a home than Las Vegas. I have only lived here three years and I lived in Belgrano for five years. Also, I became attached to the country because I married an Argentine (we divorced a few years ago but we are still friends) - she lives in Washington, DC but her parents live Mar del Plata.

By the way, I thought of the street in Belgrano where I lived: Arcos. It was a beautiful building and I was on the 14th floor. I loved that area more than any other I have ever lived.

When I lived there (1987-1992) - inflation was running 5000% annually. When I arrived a 100 Austral note was worth $100 - when I left it was worth less than one cent (US). I understand that Menem kept inflation and the exchange under control but obviously with what has happened lately he was probably doing it with mirrors.

Tell me, is Susana Jimenez still popular? There was also a very popular show on with Nico (can't remember his last name).

I miss my jogging in Palermo Park - and Fredos ice cream - and my bife from Rio Alba - and all the beautiful Argentine women (especially on the beaches of MDP and Punta.
