cvanhorn Posted March 25, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2008 We will be cruising a R/T San Diego-Hawaii in November and would like suggestions, reviews, complaints, praise as far as the Enoa and Robeerts tour companies. Also any others that people have found good. Our ports will be Oahu (3pm-8pm next day), Kailua Kona (7am-5pm), Hilo (8am-7pm), Lahaina,Maui (7am-7pm) as it stands now until the PVSA reinterpretation is finalized anyway. Thanks for you insight, we have over 40 on our rollcall already who will be interested in your opinions.
LiznMartin Posted April 4, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2008 We've just got back from our PoAm cruise (which we LOVED!). Post-cruise we stayed four nights in Waikiki and used Enoa on the Sunday when we took their Pearl Harbour and Circle Tour for $48 each. We were picked up from our hotel at 6.15 am  in a mini-bus holding 12 passengers. After Pearl Harbour (we were number 2 in the queue and were finished by 9.30 am) we then went to Dole Plantation, and carried on up to the top of the island and then down the east coast. We made LOTS of stops, stopped for lunch at a shrimp truck and our driver (George) was excellent and very knowledgeable. He just never stopped talking and was a real character! The tour was advertised as finishing at 4pm but it was nearer to 5 when we got back (and we were the first to be dropped off). It was excellent value for money and definitely one of the highlights of our trip. I would not hesitate to recommend them. Did not take a Roberts tour, so can't comment I'm afraid. Any questions, just ask!
Putterdude Posted April 5, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2008 We at the other end of the spectrum, we used Roberts exclusively in December and found them to be very good operation. The drivers/tour guides were very knowledgeable, articulate and entertaining. The coaches were all fairly new and we were please with the 4 tours we took. I doubt that the cruise lines would market a poor tour operator.
cat26 Posted April 5, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 5, 2008 We cruised with Carnival in 2006 they used Robert Hawaii for the tours. The buses were in bad shape and had no A/C. A 6+ hours tours on Maui and Hilo were LONG days. The bus in Honolulu did have A/C.
