How unusual is it?

Recommended Posts

To go on the same itinerary & ship more than once? I know I've seen some people do this and the B2B's. But I can't find many of my friends who want to do it over and I do! Your're comfortable with the ship and know where everything is instead of spending time looking for things. Also, did not get to see everything on an island.

It depends on if you liked the ship...I love cruising and there is always new things to do on each cruise, even on the same ship. That being said, I have done RCI almost 8 times, and in Oct will have done MOS 3 times. Knowing that, I do miss the sense of awe so we are going on a Celebrity cruise also, and also a MSC to try it out in Jan. The Oct one is with the kids, so it is important to go on a ship with activities for them to enjoy. They will be 12 and 13 at the time of sailing. The cruises in Jan will be just DH and I.

As far as the islands, one can never say they saw enough unless you spend real time there. On a cruise you do one thing. So I feel fine visiting again and again and doing different things. When I run out of things to do, I will stay on the ship and enjoy the peace of the ship when all others are on the islands.

We've been to the Caribbean umpteen times - Eastern, Western, Southern. Same islands, different day. With rare exception, we go on a Radiance Class ship. We have obviously done the same itinerary over and over. The ship becomes the destination rather than the ports. There's nothing wrong with that.

Having said that, it's nice to go new places and see new things. In addition to the Caribbean, we have done the Panama Canal twice, Alaska twice and Hawaii twice. We have done the Baltics and a couple of transatlantics. There's a big world out there. In a perfect world, I would be traveling more than I was home.

Oh gosh, Mariner is DH's favorite ship and within driving distance for us. We have been on her 6 times. Just laughing with DH about this last week. He wanted to go again. I said out of 17 cruises 6 have been on the Mariner. She is a great ship with plenty to do. And like said already you can never get enough of anywhere in the caribbean.

I just booked a different ship but with the same itinerary as my last cruise...not what you are asking I know but after I booked this cruise I realized it had the same itin. I booked based on the ship so it will still seem different. And last time I didn't get off the ship in one of the ports so I guess I have some exploring to do still. I suppose if I find a ship I really like I wouldn't mind doing it over and over but I haven't yet found my 'love'..lol..I am sailing on the Mariner next and then the Navigator so she is still out there!

Our upcoming cruise will be our 6th with a different itin each time. But I dont believe its terribly uncommon for people to repeat itineraries. There are a couple more we want to do before we begin repeating, but there are certainly some that we will do again

I've been on the Monarch more times then i have fingers on one hand. Sailing with different friends always make it a new experience. I've also done the Mexican riviera multiple times and Alaska twice. If you cruise 3 times a year you're bound to have some repeats.

We're booked for our 5th Spring Break in a row to the Western Caribbean out of Galveston. You'd think we'd be bored, but I just can't resist the opportunity to drive an hour to get on a ship.

We did the Grand for three years, and then switched to the Voyager this year, and we'll be on the Voyager again next year. Next year will be the first time we've had the exact same itinerary, but most of the ports have repeated and it will be our 6th (and probably not last!) time in Cozumel.

It looks like for us it's more about being on a ship!:D

We're doing the same ship, same itinerary because of convenience. We don't have to fly and it's the only ship going out of the NY area in the winter. I just told my kids (11 years old) yesterday and they were a bit disappointed that we're going on the same ship, same cruise. They like the feeling of getting on a brand new ship and exploring it for the first time. But they're getting used to the idea and have already thought of things we didn't get to see/do this past February.

We've done the Panama Canal itinerary on Brilliance of the Seas twice. The second time was somwhat different. We went to Curacao, Labadee and Cartagena, Columbia this time instead of Costa Rica and Grand Cayman the first time. But I would have gone again even without the itinerary change. Jewel will be taking over that cruise from Brilliance. I'd do it on Jewel too.

We have also sailed on Majesty of the Seas's four-night itinerary three times and the three-night once.

We took almost the same itinerary on Freedom and Liberty. In Novemeber we will do it again on Independence, so essentailly it is very much the same because the class of ships is the same.

Hubby likes to see new places or go back to the same place but try a different excursion. I just enjoy the cruising.

We have been on many ships and have done the same itinerary on them. My husband is not a beach person, but has gone on those cruises for me. His favorites are going to San Juan, Aruba, St Maarten and Antigua. He likes to play the slot machines, so in those ports he can do so.

He is NOT a big gambler, plays nickels mostly, but has a lot of fun doing that. So, we will continue to do those cruises, Mariner comes to mind, and when Freedom comes to Pt Canaveral, hopefully we can do Eastern trips on her.

When we go to Alaska, we stop in Vegas on the way home. See, a little more of the casino, lol.

Anyway, I don't care as long as we are cruising.

We haven't even been on our first cruise yet and I already fully expect we'll do the same itinerary again b/c I just can't imagine we'll see and do all the things we want to do in each port in such a short time. It seems like we'll just have to go back and do it again in the future! :p
