Our First Glory Cruise

Have been dying to tell everyone what a fabulous time we had on our cruise. We sailed on the "Western Caribbean" onboard "The Glory" that left Port Canaveral on Saturday, February 23rd.

Not quite knowing what to expect as it was our first cruise, we were pleasantly surprised. Leaving from snowy cold Toronto was not difficult to say the least. Would not get a connecting flight again. Too stressful. Fly direct, always the best.

Travelled with dh, dd also sil and bil who also had a great time. We had booked an ocean view room and were very happy with the size of the room considering there was 3 of us in the room. Room was spotless and the dh surprised me with a lovely fruit basket, wine & cheese. Dh brought a bottle of Vodka in his suitcase for the room (no problems). Also brought bottles of wine for dinner. $10 corkage fee at dinner.

We were impressed with the dining room and staff. We had a table for 8 at the back window of the ship in the Platinum Dining Room. Beautiful decor and our server "Bianca" was fabulous! Food was excellent and the menu selection agreeable. Something for everyone's taste.

I personally loved the gift shop. My dd and I spent a lot of time there while my dh was in the casino.

The shows were surprisingly entertaining. The dancers and the singer, Amy Castro the best.

Found a lot of people saving chairs on the Lido Deck so you had to be there early to get a good chair.

Dh and dd went on the "Swimming with the Dolphins excursion in Cozumel while I shopped. Great time had by both.

Belize was our snorklling and beach break adventure. Was a little disappointed in the amount of fish to be seen but fun never the less. Loved the rum punch on the catamaran but could have used more beach time. Went back to ship and then tendered into Belize for more shopping. Time is of the essence when in port because you have to be back on board at a specific time. Wed. and Thurs. weather not so good. Rough days at sea. Weather cool and windy ( no Lido Deck for us).

Friday was Nassau (my personal favorite). When in Nassau a must see is Atlantis especially the aquarium - Paradise! Went to "the Straw Market" a must for deals. If you're looking for knock-offs this is the place to go - paid $30.00 U.S. for a Dolce Gabbana purse. Also a must do is "Senor Frogs". Had a blast! Lost sign and sail card in Nassau (such an idiot) but luckily had my passport on me. Had to get a new card once on ship. Oh well!

On Saturday A.M. while on the Lido Deck I felt ill. Want to thank the people who attended me at the elevator on my way down to the infirmary. I was the blonde lady with her daughter and the other guests that were there were so attentive and kind. I'll remember that always. Thanks if you're reading this. Also the doctor and nurses were great. I made it home and that's the main thing.

To rate this cruise out of 10 I give it a 10.

We did the same cruise in November 2006 and had a MARVELOUS time. Kids loved the sushi bar and the crew and food was great! Overall, the Glory is a great ship once you know how to get around it.

You are going to have a BLAST!!!

Looking forward to our next cruise but won't pack as much as we did for the first one. Wanted to mention also that all the people we met on board were super! Hi to the lady I sat beside on the Lido Deck on Sunday, February 24th. You were from Windsor (another fellow Canadian)but sorry cannot remember your name. I will try to put some pictures up but still trying to figure out how.
