Help with Canary Islands please

There is little info on sightseeing while docking in Las Palmas of Grand Canary. Would those of you doing a transatlantic this spring or early fall please post some of your experiences at your stop here when you return from your cruise. Thanks much.

Get a cab to the old town. Columbus House, cathedral and the area called Veguetta.
