open their reservations past Aug. 22, 2008? Anyone know?

 

We would like to fly on Southwest for our next cruise which is Dec. 8 (and returning Dec. 23). I think they usually open up reservations for about 4-6 months at a time, but was wondering if anyone knows when the next reservation period, which would hopefully include our dates, will start.

SW has been changing their schedule in the last few months so there is no longer a definite date when they expand their reservation periods.

 

Just keep checking every week or so... :)

Per their Travel Tools page:

 

We are currently accepting air reservations through August 22, 2008. On April 17, we plan to open the schedule for purchase through October 30, 2008. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently.

I'm waiting for them to open the next group of dates too - I have credits from cancelled flights that I plan to use to get to and from Seattle in September.

In the past I have found Southwest averages around a 5 month window. If you're looking to grab something when they open your date, I would check every single day starting at six months out.
