Question Re: MiniSuites v. Penthouses on Gem

Hi,

I have never cruised before but I was offered a cruise from my casino this past March (originally in an outside cabin) but I upgraded to a Mini Suite on the Gem in March of 2009 - believe me I am on tenterhooks til then, I am so excited. I really want to upgrade to a penthouse suite, however, I am traveling with my brother. I note in the mini suites there are two lower beds that convert into a queen if desired but I don't think that same set up is available in a normal penthouse suite. I have been reading the boards constantly - prior to booking and since then. I would appreciate any information anyone could give me regarding the twin/queen situation.

Thanks much!

Thank you,

I can't tell you how disappointing that is to me. I would really have loved to have splurged for my first cruise - but I don't think I can afford to go to the level of Garden Villa and I think that would be the only other option for separate beds.

Ah well, thanks again! :)

Maybe an AB Penthouse would work for you. It has a seperate Childrens bedroom with an addtional bathroom.

Good luck

That it will. The ABs are great. Same layout as the Courtyard Villas A3. The master bedroom with a grand bathroom and the second bedroom with basic bath. Plenty of room in the second bedroom for a single adult.

Sparkylok6 - check this out. From the Star but the same layout as the Gem

the full suite does jump quite a bit in price. Not that much to gain, especially for two guys traveling together.

But, the AB does have a separate bedroom and others have reported the bed is fullsize, but not the queen/king in the master.
