Documents Needed Returning From Excursion

You need to bring a photo ID with you off the ship, along with your sail and sign card. We've been in some ports where they've only asked for the ship card when we return, others where they want the photo ID as well.

You do have to take some sort of photo ID with you as well. You won't need it to get back on the ship. However, at most ports you will need it to get back on the dock to get to your ship. There is a lot of debate as to whether you should take your passport off the ship or not. Some say you should just in case you miss the ship. Other says you should not so that it doesn't get lost or stolen. Personally, I take my driver's license to use as my photo ID and have a copy of my passport. I don't know if the copy would do me any good b/c I've never missed the ship....hope I never have to find out.
