Destiny's done, time to start planning Alaska

So, which route is better for a 1st time Alaskan cruise? Northbound, Southbound or Glacier Bay?

In looking at the times offerred on Carnival Spirit, I'm thinking Southbound, but am looking for past cruiser opinions. Thanks.

I thoroughly enjoyed cruising the Inside Passage through Celebrity including Glacier Bay. We made stops in Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway. The excursions were breathtaking and I loved the Mercury staff/food/services.
