Seattle to Fairbanks; Vancouver/Victoria to Seattle

We would like to fly in and out of Seattle (we have free tickets), but our Princess tour/cruise starts in Fairbanks and ends in Vancouver. We would also like to go to Victoria for a day trip or overnight. I assume that we will just fly from Seattle to Fairbanks. At the end we would like to spend a few days in Vancouver and go to Victoria. But what is the best way to get back to Seattle? Is it possible to go from Vancouver to Victoria to Seattle by ferry? If so, what would we do with our luggage? Or should we just let Princess book our air and not worry about anything? Any advice will be very helpful.

Consider- booking a one way Seattle /Fairbanks with Alaska Air. From Vancouver, rent a car and spend at least one overnight in Victoria, I never recommend any day trips. You would take the ferry from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay, then drive to Victoria, plenty to drive to including Butchart Gardens. Depending how much time, the ferry to Port Angles and then driving to Seattle is excellent, also can take the Anacortes ferry, great for some Whidbey Island exploring, ferry, then tour Boeing plant. Easy drive to Seattle.

Offers you the most options for your time.

You can get over to Victoria several different ways inlcuding rental car and BC Ferries which is a georgous trip thru the Gulf Islands or by coach with Pacific Coach Lines. The 3rd option is via float plane and 2 airlines fly from Vancouver harbour to Victoria harbour on an hourly basis, it is expensive but quick. I too recommend a full day in Victoria but you need not return to Vancouver, as much as we would love to have you, you can drop your car in Victoria and take the Victoria Clipper from downtown Victoria to downtown Seattle. The Clipper is a very beautiful trip thru the San Jaun Islands and very popular with Victoria and Seattle people alike. if you need any more info re Vancouver or Victoria come on over to the Canada thread.
