TimATL Posted April 11, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2008 We'll be arriving on a Thursday night at about 10:30pm. Is there an ATM machine at the airport to get cash?
Wendy The Wanderer Posted April 11, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2008 There may be--but better still there's a currency exchange booth. They open up with a plane comes in for just this purpose.
TimATL Posted April 11, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted April 11, 2008 Don't you get a better exchange rate with an ATM cash advance?
wristband Posted April 11, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2008 ATM is there right next to the currency exchange booth. As you walk out of customs, facing the taxis, it is on your right in front of the cafe. I used it on arrival without a problem (b/c booth was closed). About a month ago the rate was much better at the ATM next to the exchange--ATM's not very busy--everyone and their luggage lined up at the bank/exchange Nancy:D Also, good ATM rate in Bora Bora--at the bank by the tender dock--it's outside on the bank that will be on your right as you leave the tender dock
NYCFOD Posted April 30, 2008 #6 Share Posted April 30, 2008 You can buy Francs from American Express or Travelex in Australia before you go. Much less hassle, there'll be a line a mile long at the airport.
wristband Posted May 1, 2008 #7 Share Posted May 1, 2008 My experience: its a breeze at the airport ATM. No line, no one in back of me. Open 24 hours - quick and painless, English instructions, XPF cash out of the ATM and in my pocket in less than one minute.
