Car Rental in Portland, Maine

Has anyone rented a car in Portland? Is there is rental place near the pier? Or a rental company that will pick up at the pier?

The closest one I know of is Enterprise on Marginal Way in Portland. It's about 1.5 miles (5 minute cab ride) from the pier. I don't know if they deliver cars or not.

 

Here's the phone number: 207-772-0030. They're open 8-6 weekdays, 9-noon on Saturday and closed on Sunday.

We rented a car through Enterprise in 2006 and they did come to the dock to pick us up and then they returned us...we drove to Kennebuckport for the day and had a great time..we also rented through Enterprise in Halifax and drove out to Peggy's Cove and enjoyed lunch along the way...again, another great day!

FYI... if you come to Portland on a Sunday, you'll need to get a taxi to the airport to get a rental vehicle.
