Currently it is two hours earlier in Cozumel. We were there a week ago and took a taxi to our favourite beach (San Francisco) but it was CLOSED -- too early as it was only 8:30 am local time. Taxi driver was so apologetic and it was not his fault at all. We happily went into Paradise Beach and had a lovely time there.

We received lots of notice onboard to abide by ship's time; apparently cell phones pick up the local time and some people might rely on them for the departure time which could end up making them miss the ship.

Confused. Just looked on the clock that jdbmga showed and it only shows a 1 hour difference? Tomko2 was just there and said 2 hours? So if our ship says it is in Port by 9am, is the local time 8am or 7am? Thanks for all the help..

Interestingly enough, while we were docked in Cozumel another ship came alongside and we could hear their annoucements. They only had an hour difference! So the best advice is to listen carefully to the announcements on your ship and any printed information given to you on board. We were definitely two hours ahead of Cozumel.

Starting April 6th Cozumel is now 1 hour behind eastern time.

I knew someone would have a good answer.:D

It was so weird to be at the beach before the places even opened.
