Single Room Occupancy Question?

Hi. I am planning a cruise for myself, my wife, my in-laws, and my single mother. One of the problems we are encountering is the room charge for single mom. Is she pretty much stuck paying for double occupancy on her trip? Sharing a room is out of the question for her. We are looking at Carnival Cruises if that helps.

Thanks,

If she doesn't mind the 1A inside cabin, the price will be 150% of the regular fare. No matter what cruise line, singles pay the single supplement. On some lines it's always 200% and on the luxury lines, they charge 125%, the lowest in the business.

I'm booked in a 1A on the Carnival Ecstasy in September; for two people, the Carnival website is currently quoting $399 each, while for one person they're charging $598 - which is 150% instead of 200%. The 1A rooms are typically (but not always, from what I understand) bunk over bunk instead of two singles on the floor which might be combined to make a bigger bed.
