NCL Sun Mid-ship Balcony Room -Soot problems?

Hi---hoping you fine folks could help me here.

I've been reading some posts here about passengers experiencing bad soot problems on their Aft balconies (I've seen pictures and they look BAD).

I am now wondering if this is a problem for the midships balcony rooms as well.

It would be a shame if it is because we have just paid for a balcony room (was originally booked in an OV) on the Sun for our May 11 sailing to Alaska. :( Our cabin is on the port side, midship, but is toward the aft (hope that makes sense).

Thanks for your input!

We have been on four NCL ships including the Sun(Penthouse 0065) where we have had aft cabins and only once had a slight problem. We had windy conditions that brought some soot down. Our PH steward was very good about checking the balcony furniture---would come in a couple times to see if there was a problem. I really beleive the wind is what causes the problem. It sure hasn't bothered us from booking the wonderful stern PH cabins.
