2ndguesser Posted April 18, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2008 I was wondering if anyone knows of an itinerary where the ship is in Belize for 2 days. There is so much to do and see there (we love to dive and we want to see the Mayan Ruins). 1 day does not seem like enough. Any ideas? Thanks for your help. I am on the boards and the travel websites everyday and have never seen a cruise in port for 2 days in Belize. Bahamas and Bermuda yes, but not Belize. Toyz711 Posted April 18, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 18, 2008 for 1 thing, the ships don't dock..since they have to tender and tender a long ways out..running tenders all night would not be easy. they would have to allow for getting on/off the ship are all hours. over-nighting is better in ports with good docking. 2ndguesser Posted April 18, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted April 18, 2008 Thanks for your replies. There seems like there is so much to do in Belize we may just do a separate trip there and skip the cruise. Thanks for your help
Travel Angel Posted April 18, 2008 #5 Share Posted April 18, 2008 Staying a few days on Ambergris Caye would be a wonderful way to see all that Belize has to offer..... very laid back and great people on the island. Once you stay for a few days, you will want to retire there as I am planning.
Tanker4 Posted April 19, 2008 #6 Share Posted April 19, 2008 Thanks for your replies. There seems like there is so much to do in Belize we may just do a separate trip there and skip the cruise. Thanks for your help I've done some consulting work down there over the past few years and can tell you from experiance that you cannot scratch the surface of this interesting country by visiting it on a cruise ship. Do plan a separate trip, you'll love it.........:)
