Going to Alaska in June, how should I pack?

We've gone to Alaska twice - both times in June. We experienced hot, cold, rain, and sunshine. Layers and a backpack (for when you are out and about on land).

It would nice to be able to tell you exactly what the weather is going to be like, but can't. I would be sure and pack a weather proof jacket along the likes of Gore-tex, a sweater or fleece, something for your head, and some leather sneakers that maybe you would spray with a water proof spray. Layers are the answer. Come prepared for the worst and be delighted if you don't need it!

We cruised the end of June and found the weather to be chilly. I took several mock turtle necks with short sleeves and used all of them. The only thing I didn't use was the shorts. Definitely think layers.

You need to pack the same as the rest of the Alaska cruise season, there are plenty of packing list posts. Layers are the key, knit hat, gloves, rain gear.
