jmcop23 Posted October 3, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2004 Hello everyone, I am taking an Alaskan Northbound cruisetour in June '05 on the Coral Princess. I have the option of 2 different rooms on the ship. The 1st choice is on the Baja deck (rm B703) on the starboard side of the ship. The 2nd is on the Caribe deck (rm 624) on the port side of the ship. Both are balcony rooms. I'm told that the rooms on the Caribe deck have bigger balconies. My question is, which room would be better? Choose the starboard side with the smaller balcony but I'm told better view, or the port side with the bigger balcony? I am a 1st time cruiser and I'm not sure what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!:)
Hapinowagain2 Posted October 3, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2004 Choice seems easy. Do you want a view of everything going by or do you want a bigger balcony.
JanetMarie Posted October 5, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 5, 2004 I really believe cabin selection is personal, but we simply love the aft balcony cabins on Princess.
Suzanne123 Posted October 15, 2004 #4 Share Posted October 15, 2004 I've had both kinds of balconies - Caribe deck had the larger. However, for the Alaska cruise, I'd take the smaller balcony in favor of the starboard side of the ship. In the Caribbean you spend a lot of time stretched out soaking in the sun. In Alaska, you're basically standing at the balcony taking in the scenery. Just my opinion, but I liked the smaller, covered balcony as it had less wind. Also, the sunrise is at 4:00 AM. It's gorgeous from the starboard side.
