Criticism of HAL

I'm sure Crystal's product is top-notch ... but it's a totally different product at a much different price point. I agree that all of this is subjective, based on individual likes, dislikes, and expectations. The challenge for all of us is to keep these expectations reasonable.

Not much of a difference in the price point. Our cost on Crystal was $197 per day and the comparable cabin on our upcoming HAL Hawaii cruise is $179 per day. When you factor in all the costs, they are actually quite comparable in price.

Sounds like you got a great deal on Crystal! I'll check out Crystal - have done it before - but HAL definitely remains within my comfort zone - especially when I cruise solo.
