Tiger in Barbados?

Hey, Mr. Barbados, is Tiger Woods getting married on your island this week? Heard this on the news this am and was wondering if you knew about this as you seem to know everything about Barbados (thankfully).

Well, the word on the streets and in our local newspapers says yes, tomorrow @ 11AM at Sandy Lane Resort.

 

Not surprising as Tiger is friends with Mr. McManus and Mr. Desmond who own Sandy Lane.

 

There must be some truth to it as suddenly all the rooms are full and this is our transition season where capacity is usually at 75%. Maybe a little less at Sandy Lane as the rooms are US$4500/night (and up).

 

We’ll have to keep and eye on these rumors and see if they prove true, yes?

Re Tiger in Barbados.

 

He likely is, and accorrding to the rumor getting married this week. But also rumored this is to be a small intimate wedding and that they are actually not getting married at the hotel or staying there, but staying at a villa at Sandy Lane (which is seperate from the hotel) but as he is friends with the owners, anything is possible.

 

RE the part about "suddenly rooms are full", Barbados is also playing host to FCCA, Florida Caribbean Cruise Association conference that was originally scheduled for Cayman Islands. The arrangements have all been done in the last 2 weeks to get prepared for this and with Cruise Line Executives here, it wouldn't suprise me if some of them are staying at Sandy Lane as well as at least 14 other hotels on the island (as report that 15 appropriate hotels are being used for this conference).
