What to do?

Can anyone give me some suggestions. We really want to rent a Jeep and tour the island ourselves. Are they all quided tours or is there any place to just rent and go? Any other suggestions on what to do in Cozomuel would be great.

You can absolutely rent a car or jeep and drive around the island yourselves. Just don't venture off the road into the sand or down the sand road that goes through the jungle. Your insurance will be void if you go off of the paved roads and have a problem.

 

I suggest getting a map from Laura, the "mapchick." I think they're about 8 bucks or so and well worth it. http://www.cancunmap.com. The Cozumel map she sells is great for getting around the island and has lots of suggestions of things to see and do.
