Gerioo Posted April 27, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2008 Hi, Is there a train that goes from Southampton to around the Hilton Metropole. We are debating taking the National Express Bus from the ship or the train? I know we will have to take a cab to both of them. Does anyone know if the bus or train would be easier to get to the hotel? Thanks for your help.;) ;) ;)
Globaliser Posted April 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2008 Frankly, as you're going to have to get a cab from the central London terminal (either Waterloo railway station or Victoria coach station) to the hotel, it's pretty much the same. Probably a little further from Waterloo, but the train from Southampton to Waterloo is much faster than the coach to Victoria.
handfordr Posted April 28, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 28, 2008 The Hilton Metropole is only about 500m from Paddington Station. One option is to go Southampton to London Paddington changing trains at Reading. Not as frequent departures to Reading as to Waterloo, broadly every hour for fast trains as opposed to every 30 minutes to Waterloo. Overal journey from Southampton should take about 90 minutes. Trains from Reading to Paddington run every few minutes.
