July 27 Wind Surf Monte Carlo to Rome

Has anyone taken the summer Wind Surf Monte Carlo to Rome cruise? Any recommendations for activities at the ports: Monte Carlo, Cannes, Portofino, Livorno, Ajaccio, Porto Rotondo, Portoferraio, Rome? We've already visited Civitavecchia/Rome (loved Rome!), so we don't need tips for Rome.

 

Any ideas on going from Livorno to tour Florence, other than taking the cruise tours?

 

My husband and I are 50 (him) and under (me) and adventurous. On past cruises, we explored ports on our own or with friends to avoid being restricted to the pace of a large tour group. Any similar minded travelers going?
