and negotiate it ,

we went whale watching in feb, which including going to the arches, and by lovers beach it was 40$ we paid 30$

and the ship was charging 100$ for the same thing

when you get there just tell them what you want and ask the price up front, if there are 4 of you, i would pay 10$ each,

plus tip if you want for 1 1/2 tour ..

There are boats everywhere...you are in the marina.

I agree...ask the person the fare and make it clear what you want to do.

They will offer to drop you at lovers beach if you want and come back later. Also you may want to see the boat you are going on as they vary alot. We went out to the arches, sea lions and just motored about for $10pp. total time about 45 mins.

As far as the glass bottom...the viewing area is small and unless they stop the boat you dont see anything. Our guide did stop a few times and we saw some big fish, nothing all that great.

It is really beautiful out there

We were just in Cabo (late April) and there were a TON of private glass bottom boats at the area where the tenders drop you off. We chose Esperanza and "List price" was $12 per person (you can negotiate) for a tour around Los Arcos and the option of being dropped off at the beach. We stayed at Lovers Beach for about 2 hours, and then they came back to pick us up. You can also add snorkel equipment for your time at Lovers Beach for around $5 per person. If someone quotes you more than $12 per person, they are probably on the high end and you could keep looking (or negotiate) for a lower price.

Note that "Glass Bottom" means you are essentially in a smaller boat - the glass part is at the center of the hull area, about 14" wide and about 6' long. You essentially see fish in about two areas during the trip - not like you'll be watching the whole time and seeing marine life. Still, it's interesting.

And, should you get off at Lovers Beach, they drop you in about 2 feet of water off the front of the boat. Upon pick up, they try to time the waves to get in close enough without stalling their motor in the sand, and you jump in at the front. Some water taxis have ladders at the front, which seemed to be helpful for some people. You'll need to set the time with the driver to come back and pick you up... as your fare is for the same boat, and you just can't grab any other water taxi (unless, of course, you want to pay twice for a return trip!).

-You can request a life jacket

-Our boat handled 14

-Probably a small extra charge for Medano drop off - many people did that, though not sure how much it added. There was no extra fee for drop off at Lovers Beach.

The boat we were on had life jackets for children and adults suspended in a net just below the canopy of the boat. It looked like it would comfortably and safely hold around 12- 14 people. We had six and there was still lots of room. We didn't pay any extra to be dropped off and picked up at Medano beach after the tour.

If we get a tour when we get off the tender, and get dropped at the beach for a couple of hours, when do we pay for the tour?

thanks!

Jo Ann

You will need to pay for the tour up front. We received a receipt that had the name of the boat on it which helped because there are so many, it's hard to keep track of which one is yours when they come back to pick you up.
