Blacony Selection on Mariner

Recommended Posts

I need help selecting a cabin on Mariner of the seas. My choices are 1240, 9330, 9634 or 7692. I'm equally concerned about the size AND privacy of the balcony area. Would appreciate any advice you can give.

THANKS!!

I asked a cabin-related question recently and had to beg to get even one reply. I hope you have better luck than I.

I would pick the aft cabin on deck 7. If the search feature on this board is working do a search on aft cabins and/or cabin numbers. Alot of people like the aft cabins.

I don't like the one on deck 10 because it's too far forward (for me anyway). The other two are adjoining cabins, which I would stay away from.

I haven't been on the Mariner yet, so these comments are just my opinion and it will help you get this post to gthe top of the board where hopefully someone will take the time to answer you.

Now this is only my opinion but I think I would choose 9330 eventhough it is on the edge of the "Hump" it is centrally located, close to the stairs/elevators and very little movement in the middle of the ship. We were recently in 9318 and it was very quiet.
Enjoy

Mafig - thanks for the reply. Do you stay from adjoining cabins because there is noise from the next cabin? Or some other reason?

Sharonkay - Will there be a privacy concern in 9330? When you were in 9318 could you see into the balconys and living areas of the cabins that are next to the hump?

I appreciate the feedback.

We had 9630, port side of 9630 on the Navigator. If the people in the "hump" cabin next to you lean out over therailing they could look into your balcony. That realy hold true for just about any balcony.

Would I book 9630 again, Yes! Our preference is the very aft balconies though.

arosenbe - thanks for the advice. I've heard conflicting things about the aft balconies. Some say that everyone else in aft cabins can watch you sip coffee on your balcony. (trust me, I don't look so hot early in the am)

By the way, the only available aft cabin on my sailing is 7692.

Any thoughts?

The balconies on the Mariner have glass partions between them. Yes, you can hear your neighbor. You would have to lean over to see them, though. If I had a choice I would go for the aft as it should be bigger.

Lady Di The aft balcony will be bigger. The only time people can see you having your morning coffee would be if you stand right at the rail.

I stay away from the adjoining cabins because of the noise issue and also the room is usually configured a little differently to accommodate the door. In some instances there will be a chair instead of a sofa.
