Sale- upgrade on booked cruise?

Should I call Carnival to see if we can get free upgrade with cruise booked on Conquest, balcony guarantee, for Nov- booked back in July;

 

or what and see what kind of upgrade they may give us when we get assigned a cabin.

 

Not sure if they will honor upgrade for existing cruise, or if it would be worth it to pick a cabin if they do, instead of just waiting it out.

 

What do you all think?

From my understanding - if you booked a gty - you are NOT eligible for the cat upgrade. Sorry!

So far .... I have booked a gty everytime and I have always received an upgrade! So I would just wait it out.

I hadn't thought about that, I guess we aren't eligible. Oh well, that's ok, we'll just wait and see what we get. Hope we get a great location. I can hardly wait to see. Just 6 more months- ugh....

well I'd call and just talk to your person (TA or PVP). I know for our first cruise we had our TA cancel and rebook (also a no-no, but really...who cares?) and pick a specific cabin to get an OBC. We definately didn't get an upgrade (we were Riviera Deck all the way aft!!!!) but we were happy with a cheaper cruise!!
