Legend--Which side for Statue of Liberty

We are planning to book a cruise out of New York this summer on the Legend. We are hoping to see the Statue of Liberty as we cruise. Has anyone been on this cruise? If so, what side of the ship is best to view the statue and/or the city?:confused:

Statue is on the Starbord side outbound, Port side inbound. Skyline is on the opposite side in either directon.

Thanks so much for the information. Sounds like we need to be on the top deck when leaving and returning in order to get a great view of everything. We have never been to New York and really want to see all we can. Are there any motels close to the port that are good to stay in for one night?
