cruise ticket prices- advice on purchasing

I'm planning an Oct. 22, 2005 cruise on RCCL's Splendour. I haven't purchased a cruise ticket in 2 years, so I'm unfamiliar with the new pricing policy that I've heard mentioned a few times on this board. The prices for inside cabins on a the 22nd of Oct. are the same on all the travel dot.com websites. The price is slighly higher (50 bucks) on the RCCL website.

Will the price change on the dot.com's? Will it get lower or higher? Does RCCL pull the strings on the dot.com sites? A particular website I regularly purchase my hotels, flights, and cruises has a cruise sale every year in January. Typically, the cruise sale involves getting on board cruise credit or a visa gift card. Does the new pricing policy in any way affect something like this?

Sorry for all the questions. But, thanks in advance. I fear my days of cruise price hunting may be over . . .?
