tinkerme1 Posted April 23, 2004 #52 Share Posted April 23, 2004 Hello everyone! I am putting a list together of all the RCCL ships with their respective Godmother/Godparents. I'm still missing several: Nordic Prince Song of Norway Sun Viking and of course, Jewel of the Seas BTW, the pool tables are very interesting. You set yourself up for a shot and then, like magic, the table levels and your shot is nowhere to be found! The pool tables are on the Radiance class ships. Ours was on the Radiance of the Seas. I understand the gentleman who designed them slept on top of one for the sea trials because he became very sea sick. Don't know whether that was a real story or not, but it came directly from the Captain of the ship. Marc

Sorry Marc but I have no idea how long it will take you to get there.

Well Marc, I still have no idea how long it takes to get there from the cruise terminal but I think it will not conflict with your dinner. If you have late dinner you will be seated at 8:30pm I think. The Willkomm-Höft is only allowed to greet the ships with sound until 08:00pm or before sunset. So you´ll be there before 08:00pm and it´s no conflict, if being there during dinner they will not greet anymore. Brandis Posted April 24, 2004 #71 Share Posted April 24, 2004 Thanks! That's great, we leave Hamburg at 6 PM, so there is plenty of time to reach the welcome (or in this case farewell) *g* point. By the way, is there a website about the Grasbrook cruise terminal? I did a search with Google but couldn't find much intersting... Marc
magicolor_girl Posted April 25, 2004 #72 Share Posted April 25, 2004 I have to say that before reading this topic, I had no interest whatsoever in the Jewel but after reading... Globaliser and madforcrsing, your excitement about this ship is infectious! I found myself smiling wide at the pictures of her passing today. madforcruising Posted April 25, 2004 Author #75 Share Posted April 25, 2004 Thanks magicolor_girl and Frederik, I´m really excited. It´s so cool to follow up the ship so close and shorten the time a little bit until it´s time for me to set sail on her. Frederik, you´ll have to tell us immediately after your return about your cruise. Marc I can´t tell you very much about the Grasbrook Terminal. I couldn´t find much on it on the web either. I can tell you only very few things on it. I´ve been there once 2 years ago on my Cruise to nowhere on the Hapag Lloyd Columbus. At this time it was not more than a tent on the pier. Nothing Fancy. Plenty of Parking space in the front. I read somewhere that they are now start to build a cruise terminal. They stated also that they are setting up some Containers. On a small picture it looked like if they built a terminal from Containers. I know this is not very helpful but the only Information I can give. Please tell us as soon as you are back what your cruise was like.
