We Are Booked On The Regatta 'scandinavian Splendors' 6-1-09 Cruise...interested In Chatting With Anyone Else Who Is Booked Or Considering This Sailing...

Especially Interested In Getting A Small Group Together For Land Excursions In St. Petersburg.....i Know That There Are Two Companies Who Are Well Recommended By Ta As Well As Others..but Prior To Booking, I Thought It Be Best To First Get An Approximate Number Who Will Be Joning Us On Land Tours.

We Are Very Much Looking Forward To This Sailing...we Were On The Regatta When It First Sailed Under The Renaissance Line...enjoyed It More Than Silversea Or Crystal.....especially The Casual 'country Club Casual' Dress....eager To See What Oceania Has Done To The Ship Since It Took It Over From Renaissance Other Than Renaming The Staterooms [i.e Deck 8 Stateroom To Penthouse Suites!!]

Also Can Anyone Share How Far Dover, Uk Is From Heathrow Airport In Terms In Distance, Time And What Is The Cost If One Books Transfers Individually And Not Through The Cruise Line From Ship Port To Airport...our Past Experiences Are That With Any Land Excursions, Tours, Hotel Stays, And Or Port-airport Transfers, The Cruise Companies Charge Practically Over 100% Over What One Could Do On Their Own...appreciate Your Thoughts. Also Any Suggestions Of What Is Wortwhile Doing In Stockholm..since The Ship Will Be There Overnight After We Board On The First Of June.

Hoping To Hear Any Thoughts, Suggestions, Recommendations From Anyone Who Has Gone On Similar Cruise. Many Thanks!

You can find most of your answers ideally at 2 other boards. Firstly, go to the Roll Calls board. If you don't see your cruise date listed, (it IS more than a year from now), you can start a thread and be there when others from your cruise enter the roll call board.

Then go to the Ports of Call boards and find Europe and also look in the Britain threads. There you'll find all kinds of info re London/Dover. As well as other ports.

Have a great time. You might want to pick up a couple books too, so you know which places you'd like to visit at all the ports of call. There are some great travel books on Scandanavia.
