Malta Car hire with driver

Anybody have any recommendations for a good car hire (with driver) in Malta? We will be spending one day there on our Oceania Insignia cruise in Sept. We lived in Malta for a couple of years in the late 50s & have never been back since, so are interested in touring our old haunts. Don't think we could still find our own way around after all these years, & don't want to do a ships tour as it would probably only cover historical highlights of the Island.

When we got off the ship, there were lots of cabs waiting. My recollection is that there were set fees for a certain number of hours. We had spent the day in Valletta when we were there before, so wanted to visit a list of more outlying sites.

We used http://www.touringmalta.com last Sept. We were 2 couples with a guide and a driver. If you go to the site, you will see the recommended itinerary for the day. We were very pleased with our guide and the tour.

Thanks for the information. " Touring Malta " sounds like it's just what we're looking for & will be able to accommodate our touring requests. Don't suppose we'll recognize the place after all these years !

We hired Joan Sheridan (touring Malta) a few years ago and it was FABULOUS! She is great! A must see if you can arrange it in advance is a visit to the Hypogeum. They only allowed 10 people per tour, and it was one of the highlights of our day there. Say hi to Joan from Suzie & Alexandra from Palo Alto,CA, please. It has been a few years, so she might not remember us, but we remember her and the amazing day we spent in Malta!
