NCL Star/ Pride of Aloha ?

We are looking at the new sailings for the NCL Star. They are offering kids sail free for later this summer. Trying to book a family cruise. Any info on how this ship or NCL does with the kids program would be very helpful. The 4 day cruise is port intensive so we won't be on the ship that much. I don't think we would leave the kids on the ship while we went into port. Kids will be 5 & 8 or 6 & 9 depending on when we sail. Thanks.
