wvdleek Posted May 12, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2008 According to the published itineraries, the Costa Atlandtica should be today in Vigo (Spain) and the Costa Marina in Tanger. However, the webcam and map of the Costa Atlantica shows that the ship is in Cadiz (Spain) since 10th May. Also Costa Marina is in Cadiz. Does anyone know what the reason is for not sailing thei itineraries and calling at an other port ? ?

Does anyone know what the reason is for not sailing thei itineraries and calling at an other port ? ? The ***** shows the Costa Atlantica position as Vigo but it is marked as "Scheduled" whereas Costa's ships position is nearly always "Actual". *****/schiffsposition.php?schiff=Costa+Atlantica For the Costa Marina, ***** shows her position as "actual", I see in the 2008 Cataloque she was due in Tangier today, but looking at ***** online itinerary it states today as Cadiz. Marina position: *****/schiffsposition.php?schiff=Costa+Marina Marina itinerary: *****/reise.php?reise=3210 I can see that maybe there was a change in the itinerary for the Costa Marina some time in the past, but it is strange about the Costa Atlantica, also there has not been reports of any probelms in Morocco. Even if one of the ships is having problems (e.g. engines) there would be no need for the other ship to wait, because Cadiz is a very large port and had ship repair facilities. Also nothing in the cruising press, we'll just have to wait til CC members report back after the cruise. Ron
Goldryder Posted May 12, 2008 #3 Share Posted May 12, 2008 Atlantica is in Vigo (first pair of web images) Marina is in Cadiz (second set of web images) The only ship that does a weekly visit to Moroccan ports currently is Classica, she goes to Agadir on her way to/from Canaries/Madeira. wvdleek Posted May 12, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted May 12, 2008 Informationmap for Costa Atlantica has now been justified http://www.costacroisieres.be/B2C/BD/WebCam/webcam.htm Note the shortcut overland from Cadiz to Vigo, skipping Lisbon (port of call 11 May)

sunside Posted May 14, 2008 #9 Share Posted May 14, 2008 The ***** shows the Costa Atlantica position as Vigo but it is marked as "Scheduled" whereas Costa's ships position is nearly always "Actual". Just as a clarification: What most likely happened was that the satellite transmission of the Atlantica's current position and webcam didn't work since May 10. The Costa website showed the ship's last known position (=Cádiz), and our system switched to showing the scheduled position, which was the better guess in this case ;) This happens sometimes and is usually nothing to worry about :D About the Costa Marina: there must have been a revision of the itinerary since the catalog was printed.
